Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between peer social support and anxiety among final-year university students in Malang City. The research employed a quantitative method involving 100 respondents selected through non-probability sampling using accidental sampling. The instruments used were the peer social support scale (α = 0.907) and the anxiety scale (α = 0.881). Data analysis using simple linear regression showed a regression coefficient (β) of -0.363 with a significance value of p = 0.000 < 0.05 and a contribution of R² = 0.132. These results indicate a significant negative relationship, meaning that the higher the peer social support received, the lower the level of anxiety experienced by students. The majority of respondents were male (54%), and the categorization results showed that most students had moderate levels of both peer social support and anxiety. This study highlights that peer social support can reduce students’ anxiety levels, emphasizing the need for strengthening peer interactions and implementing peer support programs in university environments.
