Abstract
Academic stress is a response that comes due to too many demands and tasks that must be done by individuals. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-openness and academic stress in students who were working on a thesis. This research is quantitative with sampling techniques using purposive sampling techniques with measuring scales of self-openness and academic stress in the form of Likert scales. The results showed a significant
negative relationship between self-openness and academic stress (r = -0.323; p = 0'001). This means that the higher the openness, the lower the academic stress experienced by students and vice versa.
