Abstract

Human resources are one of the important factors in achieving the goals of acompany. The existence of a delegative leadership style is believed to be able to improveand develop the quality of the performance of company employees. Delegativeleadership style is the handover of authority from a leader to his subordinates in anorganization or company, with the hope that the tasks and authority can be completedand accounted for on time. A positive work environment can have an impact on jobsatisfaction, both the physical work environment and the non-physical work environment.This study aims to determine the effect of delegative leadership style and workenvironment on the performance of Social Service employees of Malang Regency. The data used in this study are primary data and a quantitative approach withresearch instruments using a measurement scale, namely the delegative leadership stylebalance scale and work environment. The population and sample used were MalangDistrict Social Service employees, totaling 57 people. The sampling technique in this study was carried out by probability samplingtechnique and the type of sample used was a saturated sample. Based on the results ofthe t test, the delegative leadership style variable (X1) obtained a significant value of0.028 <0.05 and the work environment variable (X2) obtained a significant value of 0.004<0.05. The results of the study show that partially, the delegative leadership style and thework environment affect employee performance. Employee performance is influencedsimultaneously by delegative leadership style (X1) and work environment (X2) which canbe seen in the Adjusted R Square value of 0.303 or 30.3% of the dependent variable,namely employee performance (Y) simultaneously has a significant effect while theremaining 69. 7% is influenced by other variables not discussed in this study. The workenvironment variable is the dominant variable that has a significant effect on employeeperformance with the highest standardized beta coefficient value of 0.381
