Abstract

Purchasing decision is a consumer behavior in selecting and assessing various options available based on certain reasons consumers consider the most profitable. This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of affiliate marketing, flash sales, with free shipping mediation on purchasing decisions at the Shopee marketplace (case study on Shopee users among students at Merdeka University Malang). The number of samples used in this study was 90 people, using the simple random sampling method. Data collection was obtained from distributing questionnaires. The data analysis technique usedis the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using Smart PLS software. The results showed that 1) affiliate marketing has no significant effect on the purchasing decisions of students of the Merdeka University of Malang in the Shopee marketplace, 2) flash sales have a directand significant effect on the purchasing decisions of students of the Merdeka University of Malang in the Shopee marketplace, 3) free shipping is able to mediate the effect of affiliate marketing variables on purchasing decisions of students of the Merdeka University of Malang in the Shopee marketplace, 4) free shipping is not able to mediate the effect of flash sale variables on purchasing decisions of students of the Merdeka University of Malang in the Shopee marketplace, 5) free shipping has a significant effect on purchasing decisions of students of the Merdeka University of Malang in the Shopee marketplace.
