Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of lecturer competence which has indicators of pedagogical competence, personal competence, professional competence and social competence on the level of understanding then the effect of locus of control which has indicators of the ability to control behavior, cognitive ability to control and ability to control decisions on the level of understanding and the influence of learning facilities which has indicators of study rooms, lighting, handbooks, completeness of practical tools on the level of understanding of management study program students partially and simultaneously at Merdeka University Malang. The type of research used is quantitative research. The population in this study are regular morning management students from the 2019-2023 class. The sample used was 90 respondents. In this study using data collection techniques used is the distribution of questionnaires (Questionnaire). The data analysis technique is a quantitative descriptive technique which aims to analyze a problem that occurs in a study. The analytical tool used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis with the help of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) 16. The type of data used is quantitative data and the data source used is primary data. The results of this study explain that lecturer competence has a positive and significant effect on the level of understanding of management study program students at Merdeka University Malang with a significance result of .002 and locus of control has a positive and significant effect on the level of understanding of management study program students at Merdeka University Malang with a significance result of .000 and learning facilities have a significant and positive effect on the level of understanding of management study program students at Merdeka Malang University with a significance value of .029. From the simultaneous testing, it was found that lecturer competence, locus of control and learning facilities had a joint effect on the level of understanding of management study programs at Merdeka University Malang and there was also a dominant variable, namely the locus of control variable.
