Abstract

The phenomenon of flooding that occurred in Glintung Village (GWS), especially those that occurred in RT 01, RT 02 and RT 03, is a phenomenon that is rarely found in other areas. Usually, floods occur due to high rainfall intensity, causing excess water which cannot be accommodated by waterways, to overflow into floods. The floods in the GWS indicate a backflow phenomenon which causes water that should flow into the river to turn around and overflow into residents' settlements. To anticipate floods due to backflow which have a bigger impact, one effort that can be done to solve this problem is to install pumps to reduce the volume of flooding in the area. So an analysis is needed to determine the required pump capacity to reduce the flood volume. The results of the analysis show that reducing the volume of flooding can be done by installing 3 pumping stations and 3 pumps with a capacity of 100 m3/hour for RT 03, 3 pumps with a capacity of 50 m3/hour, for RT 02 and 1 pump with a capacity of 50 m3 /hour for RT 01. In addition, it is also necessary to install a backflow valve and repair the existing river retaining wall.
