Abstract

The presence of TikTok social media is a form of internet development that is popular among users such as teenagers, thereby making teenagers the most vulnerable generation to these modern developments. One of the effects is that it makes teenagers hedonistic. And this study was conducted with the aim of examining whether there is an influence of the intensity of TikTok social media use (X) on the hedonistic lifestyle of adolescents (Y). The study was conducted using the Accidental Sampling technique on a research sample of 384 adolescents with a scale measuring tool using the Intensity of Social Media Use Scale and the Hedonism Lifestyle Scale. The results of the hypothesis test using a simple linear regression test found that there was an influence between the intensity of social media use on the hedonistic lifestyle of adolescents with a value of β = 0.274, p(Sig.)0.00 <0.05, with an influence of 7.5%. Through these results, the research hypothesis that the intensity of TikTok social media use (X) can influence the hedonism lifestyle variable (Y) in adolescents is acceptable.
