Abstract

The issue that low learning motivation among students, particularly those from distant areas, is a major concern. The goal of this study was to see how self- adjustment and learning motivation affected students from various students from various regions at Merdeka University in Malang. The researcher employed a quantitative correlational method, utilizing basic linear regression analysis. The study sample included 300 students from other areas studying at Merdeka University, chosen using a purposive selection approach. Measuring devices included learning motivation (α = 0.706) and self-adjustment scale (α = 0.739). The study found a significant correlation (β = 0.822, p < 0.05) between self-adjustment and learning motivation, with self-adjustment accounting for 67.5% of the learning motivation of out-of-town students. This suggests that self-adjustment positively impacts learning enthusiasm. This research suggests that out-of-town students learning motivation increases as their self-adjustment improves.
