Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy on academic procrastination in senior high school students and social media users in Malang. This study uses quantitative methods with a correlational design and a sample of 100 students. Determination of the selected sample using an accidental sampling technique. The data were collected using the academic procrastination scale (α=0.880) and selfefficacy scale (α=0.918). The data analysis technique used with simple linear regression showed self-efficacy significantly affected academic procrastination (β=-0.2, p = 0.04), contributing 41% (R2 = 0.41). Based on these results, it can be concluded that a significant influence exists between self-efficacy and academic procrastination in high school students. This research shows that higher selfefficacy can reduce academic procrastination; therefore, by enhancing self-efficacy through appropriate strategies, students can minimize academic procrastination, manage social media more wisely, improve academic performance, and achieve better psychological well-being.
