Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between job stress and organizational commitment among employees in Malang City. A quantitative approach was used with a correlational method, involving 404 respondents selected through accidental sampling. The research instruments consisted of a job stress scale (α = 0.870) and an organizational commitment scale (α = 0.718). The data were analyzed using a simple linear regression test, which yielded a regression coefficient of β = -0.210, a t-value of 4.309, and a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. The R2 value was 0.044, with an F-test value of 18.571 and a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. The job stress variable explained 4.4% of the variance in organizational commitment. Based on these results, it can be concluded that each one-unit increase in employees‟ job stress tends to lead to a decrease in their organizational commitment. This indicates a significant negative relationship between job stress and organizational commitment, where higher levels of job stress may contribute to reduced employee loyalty or attachment to the organization.
