Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a correlation between body image and self-confidence in early adult single women who are obese. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a positive correlation between body image and self-confidence in early adult single women who are obese. The research subjects were 100 people. The scale used to measure the level of self-confidence is the self-confidence scale of Angelis (in Andiyati, 2016). The Body Image scale uses a scale from Cash and Pruzinsky (in Khaira, 2018). The analytical method used in this study is the Pearson SPSS version 20 product-moment correlation method for windows. The results of calculations and data analysis using the Pearson product-moment correlation method show a correlation index (rxy) of 0.757 with a significance value of 0.000 at a significance level of 5%. This means that there is a positive relationship between body image and self-confidence in early adult single women who are obese so that the proposed hypothesis is accepted.
