Abstract
As individuals age, everyone faces changes that impact their lives. For those who have entered the phase of life that is not young anymore but are still working, there are many factors that can lead to the onset of work stress. Therefore, the aim of this research is to understand the work stress experienced by middle-aged workers who become civil servants (PNS). This research method uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach, involving three respondents. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model data analysis technique. The analysis of the data resulted in themes in the research, which then showed that the work stress experienced by the three respondents stems from: issues related to physiological conditions; psychological problems; unhealthy lifestyle; adaptation to technological advancements; unclear leave limitations; and personal issues. Thus, handling work stress can be done in several ways, such as creating a platform for expressing grievances faced and increasing individual awareness to understand their capacity to cope with work.
