Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hope and quarter life crisis in final year students at the Faculty of Psychology Merdeka University of Malang. This study used a quantitative method with a correlational approach, with 180 respondents from the Faculty of Psychology, Merdeka University of Malang. The sampling determination used a simple random sampling technique. Data collection used a scale of hope and quarter life crisis in the form of a likert scale. The results of the analysis showed a significance value 0,00 (0,00 < 0,05) with a negative relationship direction. Based on this, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between hope and quarter life crisis in final year students at the Faculty of Psychology Merdeka University of Malang with a negative relationship direction. The higher the hope of final year students, the lower the level of quarter life crisis they have, and vice versa. The R value is 0,645, which means that hope affects quarter life crisis by 64,5% and the rest is influenced by other factors. This study can provide information that hope can predict the level of quarter life crisis in final year students at the Faculty of Psychology Merdeka University of Malang, so in this case, final year students need to have hope in order to face the challenges in the quarter life crisis phase with a much better perspective.
