Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of social media usage intensity on adolescents moral intelligence, focusing on individuals aged 12-15 years in Malang City. The background of this research is based on the increasing use of social media among adolescents, wich may influence the development of moral values. Using a quantitive approach, data were collected thorugh incidental sampling involving 100 respondents. The instruments used were the social media usage intensity scale with good reliability scores of 0,797 and the moral intelligence scale with good reliability scores too 0,802 respectively. The results indicated a significant positive role between social media usage intensity and moral intelligence, with significance value of p<0,5 (P=0,02). These findings suggest that higher intensity of socal media is utilized for positive and educational content. This study highlights that social media does not always have negative impacts; instead it, it can serve as a medium for moral development if used wisely. It is recommended that parents and educator provide guidance in social media use and encourage its utilization as a tool for moral education.
