Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-compassion on resilience among final-year students who are completing their thesis in Malang City. Students at this stage generally face high academic pressure, requiring internal psychological factors that can strengthen their ability to recover. The research used a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression design. The sample consisted of 100 finalyear students selected using an accidental sampling technique. Data collection instruments included a self-compassion scale and a resilience scale, both of which had been tested for validity and reliability. The analysis results show that selfcompassion has a positive and significant effect on resilience, with an R² value of 0.900, p = 0.000, and a regression coefficient of 1.303, which means that selfcompassion contributes 90% to the variation in the increase of student resilience. These findings indicate that the higher the self-compassion, the stronger the students' ability to cope with thesis-related pressures. The results of this study emphasize the need for self-compassion development programs, such as training or counseling, in universities to enhance students’ psychological resilience.
