Abstract
Final-year students face various academic, social, and emotional pressures that can trigger self-harm behavior, defined as intentionally injuring oneself without suicidal intent. This study aims to understand the psychological dynamics of selfharm behavior among final-year students. Using a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews, three female respondents were purposively selected. The results indicate that the common form of self-harm involves cutting the skin with sharp objects. This behavior is triggered by academic stress, family expectations, and a lack of social support. Respondents reported temporary relief after engaging in self-harm, followed by regret and negative psychological effects. These findings can be used to improve students' overall quality of life, for example by creating a more supportive campus environment and reducing academic stress.
