Abstract

The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) released the results of monitoring and complaints of violence in educational institutions. From January to October 2019, 127 cases of violence were recorded, consisting of physical, psychological and sexual violence (Tempo, 2019). In the school environment, this kind of thing often happens, starting from insulting, making fun of, teasing and isolating. On a smaller scale, unhealthy senior-junior relationships also occur in secondary schools. The key word to describe all these symptoms is bullying. Bullying is an act of using power to hurt a person or group of people either verbally, physically or psychologically so that the victim feels depressed, traumatized, and helpless (Sejiwa, 2008). The bully performs bullying as an escape in the home environment that always oppresses him and makes him helpless. This study was conducted to test whether perceptions of authoritarian parenting have a relationship with bullying behavior in adolescents. This study uses quantitative methods using a variable scale of authoritarian parenting and bullying behavior to 97 students of Malang City UM Laboratory Senior High School who are in the tenth and eleventh grades with simple random sampling technique. The data analysis used was the Pearson product moment correlation using SPSS version 21.0 software. The results showed that there was a relationship between perceptions of authoritarian parenting and bullying behavior in SMA Laboratorium UM Malang students. The value of the Pearson correlation coefficient is positive, namely 0.622. positive direction means that when the variable X (Perceptions of Authoritarian Parenting is getting lower, then Variable Y (bullying behavior in adolescents) will also be low or directly proportional.
