Abstract
Cyberloafing behavior makes student’s self-awareness lacking in focusing during the learning process. Cyberloafing behavior is intentional behavior by individuals in accessing the internet for personal interests that are not related to work at certain times. Continuous cyberloafing behavior will become an excessive behavior and have an impact on the individual's own performance or the surrounding environment by ignoring the norms in the existing situation. Self-awareness is an individual's awareness of himself which includes aspects of emotional awareness, self-confidence, and accurate self-assessment that can actually influence cyberloafing behavior. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of self-awareness on cyberloafing behavior. This study uses quantitative research with simple random sampling data collection techniques. The subjects of this study were 377 students studying at University of Merdeka Malang. This research instrument uses a self-awareness scale and a cyberloafing scale. The results of this study indicate a constant coefficient of 104.580 with a regression coefficient of -0.339 and a significant level of 0.000 <0.05 which has a significant effect on the cyberloafing variable, so it can be said that the hypothesis is accepted. The R-Square value of the self-awareness variable on cyberloafing at Merdeka University Malang students is 0.064. This shows that the effect of self-awareness on cyberloafing in Merdeka University Malang students is 0.64%, while the rest is influenced by other factors not mentioned in this study.
