Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social comparison and quarter-life crisis in final year students. This research method uses quantitative correlation with the number of respondents amounting to 100 final year students. Sampling determination using snowball sampling technique. The measuring instruments used were the Iowa-Netherlands Comparison Orientation Measure (INCOM) scale (α=0.757) and the Quarter-Life Crisis scale (α=0.940). Data analysis techniques using simple linear regression test. The results of data analysis showed that the value of B = 2.082, obtained t count > t table of 6.876 > 1.987 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between social comparison and quarter-life crisis, meaning that the higher the social comparison, the higher the level of quarter-life crisis in final year students. This research can help final year students understand the impact of social comparison on the level of quarter-life crisis, so final year students need to use social comparison positively by learning from other people's achievements to increase motivation and self-development.
