Abstract

Early Childhood Education is the level of education for children aged 0-6 years. Some aspects of development that early childhood has, namely: social emotional development, psychomotor, cognitive, and also language development. Since the first birth, every individual has potential abilities because basically every human brain that is born has been accompanied by their respective intelligence. One aspect of intelligence according to Gardner's theory is verbal linguistic intelligence. Verbal linguistic intelligence possessed by children is very dependent on the stimuli obtained by children from the environment including the school environment. In order to create learning conditions with students who remain active, happy, and free to choose the things they like, singing is designated as a learning method to improve verbal linguistic intelligence in early childhood. This study used a subject
totaling 24 students. The sample size is determined by Arikunto's theory that if the population <100 then all members of the population are used as research samples, namely 24 students. The technique used for sampling is total sampling. The validity of the items on the observation sheet consists of 25 items, 2 items fall and 23 items are valid or can be used. The valid item coefficients are 0.441 to 0.769. Through
the reliability test, the results obtained were 0.560 for the pretest and 0.526 for the posttest. The results of data analysis showed t arithmetic 8.064 > t table 2.069 with a significance level of 0.000. These results indicate that there is a significant effect between the singing learning method and the verbal linguistic intelligence of early childhood.
