Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the teaching and learning system used, namely online-based learning. This resulted in the emergence of academic burnout in students, especially medical students. Burnout is a condition of physical and psychological fatigue due to pressure, demands for duties and other learning activities. This study was conducted with the aim of looking at the effects of parental social supports on academic burnout of students of the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha University of Education. The sample in this study amounted to 100 students of the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha University of Education, who faced online lectures during the covid-19 pandemic. The method in taking the sample used was a non-probability sampling technique, namely purposive sampling. The hypothesis in this study said that there was an influence of parental social support on academic burnout for students of the Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha University of Education who faced online lectures during the covid-19 pandemic. The variable of parental social support had an effect of 12% on academic burnout in Medical Faculty students and the remaining 88% was influenced by other factors.
