Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an individual’s capability to manage emotions which can contribute to the formation of resilience. Resilience can help individuals get through difficult times and challenges in life. The aim of this research is to find whether there is an influence of emotional intelligence on resilience in early adult who experienced termination of employment. This research is quantitative research. The sample in this study consisted of 107 subjects aged 18-40 years who had experienced termination of employment, using purposive sampling technique. The measuring instruments used are intelligence scale and the 10-Item CD-RISC which has been adapted into Indonesian, in the form of Likert Scale. The reliability coefficient is 0,866 for the emotional intelligence scale and 0,75 for the 10-Item CD-RICS which has been adapted into Indonesian. The hypothesis using a simple linear regression test with a significance value of 0,000 < 0,05 and R Square value of 0,457. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of emotional intelligence on resilience and emotional intelligence contributes 45,7% to resilience
