Abstract

People with physical disabilities will be hampered in their mobility if accessibility is not adequate. There are different feelings felt by people with physical disabilities that have an impact on their psychology. However, with the lack of accessibility and an environment that is not fully inclusive, these students are able to survive. This study reveals how the self-adjustment process of students with physical disabilities at Merdeka University Malang, wants to know in depth the problems faced, as well as the success factors of students with physical disabilities in adjusting. This research uses qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. Data collection uses semi-structured interview techniques to obtain in-depth data. The researcher's findings that specifically the self-adjustment process of students with physical disabilities at Merdeka University Malang is formed from self-confidence, support, and belief. These three aspects will form self-understanding which continues to self-acceptance and self-control
