Abstract
Family support is an important support to be given in early adulthood to reduce the level of depressive tendencies because good family support will affect the level of depressive tendencies in early adulthood. This study aims to determine whether there is an influence between family support on depression tendencies in early adulthood in Malang. A quantitative approach utilizing a descriptive methodology and basic linear regression analysis is the study methodology employed. The population in this study is early adults in the city of Malang aged 18-25 years. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. Taking the number of participants as many as 100 using the theory from Lemeshow. The data collection method used a family support scale and a depression tendency scale. The data analysis technique used is pearson product moment correlation. The results of the Hypothesis test indicate that there is a relationship between family support and depressive tendencies; the F value is 48.209 with a significance level of 0.000. A correlation coefficient of -0.318 and a significance value of 0.000 (p<0.05) were derived from the data analysis results. The findings demonstrated a substantial inverse link between depression inclinations and family support, i.e., the greater the family support, the less likely early adult residents of Malang City were to experience depression. Family support had a 33% magnitude of influence on depression inclination
