Abstract
Human resources are one of the organizational resources that are very important for the success of the organization. Despite this, worker performance in Inonesia has declined over the past few years, as mentioned by CSIS Senior Researcher Aswicahyono and Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah. One factor that can influence employee performance is work stress. This research aims to determine the role of work stress on employee performance at the Rimba Papua Hotel, Timika, Papua. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this research were Rimba Papua Hotel employees who had worked for at least 1 year (n=128). This research uses two measurement scales, namely the Job Stress Scale and the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out using simple regression analysis. The research results show that work stress is in the low category and employee performance is in the high category. The results of a simple regression analysis between work stress and employee performance show a significant value of 0.099 (Sig. > 0,05). These results indicate that work stress does not significantly influence employee performance. So, it can be concluded that the proposed hypothesis is rejected
