Abstract

Recently there have been many cases of delinquency involving elementary school age children in social life. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between authoritative parenting and social intelligence in grade 3 elementary school students. This research uses quantitative research methods. The research population here is all students of class 3 MIN 2 Malang City. The number of samples used was 67 people. The data analysis method uses simple linear regression techniques. Before carrying out simple linear regression, an assumption test is carried out first, namely the normality test and linearity test. Based on data categorization, it was found that class 3 MIN 2 students in Malang City had a high authoritative parenting style with a high level of social intelligence. The results of the simple linear regression test obtained a result of 0.000<0.05, indicating that the results showed a significant relationship between social intelligence and authoritative parenting. Obtaining a correlation coefficient value of 0.529 means that authoritative parenting and social intelligence have a fairly strong relationship
