Abstract

Klojen District, Malang City, has problems in improving performance due to the limited ability and work motivation of ASN, which makes the performance of ASN in Klojen District itself not in accordance with its targets in serving the community. Apart from this, facilities and infrastructure also need to be improved to meet the needs of ASN to maximize their main duties and functions in carrying out service performance to the community. In an effort to improve the professional and accountable performance of ASN in Klojen District, Malang City, it is very necessary to improve quality internally and externally.
This research aims to describe and analyze efforts to improve ASN performance in Klojen District, Malang City, along with supporting and inhibiting factors for efforts to improve ASN performance in Klojen District, Malang City. It is hoped that this research will provide benefits to the government, the community and readers regarding efforts to improve the performance of ASN in Klojen District, Malang City.
This research uses qualitative research located in Klojen District, Malang City. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, documentation. The research instruments are the researchers themselves and also several research supporting tools in the form of interview guides and other tools. The data analysis used is data analysis and interactive models according to Miles, Huberman and Saldana. The research results show that efforts to improve ASN performance have gone well but are still not optimal. There are supporting factors and also inhibiting factors in efforts to improve ASN performance. The supporting factor in efforts to improve ASN performance is providing motivation. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are low employee discipline and inadequate infrastructure. The advice that researchers can give is that leaders must actively control and discipline employees as government officials and infrastructure needs to be further equipped to improve the performance of ASN to run well.
