Abstract

The huge potential of the travel business, especially in the Malang-Madiun route,makes many travel service operators who open services on the tray, including Mandiritravel. To be able to meet the needs of the community for the mode of transportation in theroute served, and continue to compete with other travel service operators who are largerand longer to open their business, the set rates must be able to cover all vehicle operatingcosts (BOK) and get a decent profit but still affordable by the community. The purpose ofthis research is for the large conformity of tariffs set for Mandiri Travel services withVehicle Operating Costs (BOK), as well as passenger purchasing power measured basedon ability to pay and willingness to pay.This research is a quantitative descriptive study using survey methods.Primary data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 100 respondentswho were passengers of Mandiri Travel trayek Malang-Madiun. The sampling techniqueused is simple random sampling. Data analysis is done by descriptive methods bycomparing rates based on Vehicle Operating Costs, Ability to Pay and Willingness to Pay.Based on the results of research it is known that the amount of vehicle operatingcosts incurred by Mandiri Travel is Rp 119,633.34 /. The amount of Ability to Pay valueon average is Rp 140,039.42 which is still quite far above the applicable rate of Rp 120,000.while the amount of Willingness to Pay on average is Rp 93,397.26 which is still quite farabove the applicable rate of Rp 120,000.
