Abstract

The aim of this research is to conduct a comparative analysis of the Quality of Service (QoS) for YouTube video streaming services on 4G and 5G networks. The research method used is experimental, allowing researchers to control and manipulate independent variables and observe their effects on dependent variables. The QoS parameters measured include throughput, packet loss, delay, and jitter. The 5G network survey location was conducted in the GRAPARI Telkomsel Surabaya area, which already supports 5G. The study shows that the 5G network performs better than the 4G network in terms of data speed (throughput), lower latency (delay), and more stable delay variation (jitter). These results provide a significant contribution to the field of communication technology by providing empirical data comparing QoS performance between 4G and 5G networks, which can be used to improve infrastructure and user experience.
