Abstract
It is now very much realized that the level of competition between companies and other companies is very tight. In this tight competition, companies are encouraged to manage more qualified human resources. Human resources are significant for companies because they can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the company. To obtain qualified human resources, companies must carry out the recruitment and selection process of employees needed by the company properly. After the recruitment and selection stages are carried out by a company, employees who pass the recruitment and selection stages will be ready to be given responsibility in the company, and the next process will produce a performance produced by employees. This study intends to describe employee recruitment, selection, and performance, analyze the effect of recruitment and selection on employee performance, analyze the effect of recruitment on employee performance, and analyze the effect of selection on employee performance at the Meritjan Sugar Factory in Kediri City. This study uses a quantitative method. In measuring variables in this study, the use of a Likert scale was carried out by filling out a questionnaire designed in the form of a sentence statement. The data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis methods with a sample size of 70 permanent employees. The findings of the analysis show that the influence of recruitment and selection together has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, which means that increasing recruitment and selection will realize the achievement of company goals in terms of good employee performance. As expected by the Meritjan Sugar Factory in Kediri City, the influence of recruitment on employee performance has a positive and significant effect, and the influence of selection on employee performance has a positive and significant effect. At the Meritjan Sugar Factory in Kediri City, recruitment and selection have a significant effect on employee performance.
