Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of macroeconomic variables, namely Inflation, SBI Interest Rates, Exchange Rates, World Oil Prices and World Gold Prices on the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (January 2016-October 2021 period). This type of research is a research that uses a quantitative approach and time series data and the sampling technique used is the saturated sample method (census). The sample used in this study is JCI month-end data issued by the Indonesia Stock Exchange with a total sample of 70 data from the period January 2016-October 2021. The data collection technique used in this study is the documentation method and the data analysis technique used is analysis multiple linear regression. The test results show that the independent macroeconomic variables, namely inflation, SBI interest rates, exchange rates, world oil prices and world gold prices simultaneously have a significant effect on the JCI. The partial test results show that inflation and the IDR/Dollar Exchange rate have a significant effect on the JCI and the SBI Interest Rate, World Oil Price and World Gold Price have no significant effect on the JCI. The dominant test results show that the IDR/Dollar exchange rate has a dominant influence on the JCI. The value of the coefficient of determination in this study is 0.515. This means that the ability of the independent variable to explain the dependent variable is 51.5%, while the remaining 48.5% is explained by other independent variables outside the research model.
