Abstract
In the development of concrete construction, concrete is required to be a high-quality construction material. However, because it uses a large amount ofcement, making high-quality concrete a material that is not environmentallyfriendly. The cement content in high-strength concrete is between 700-1100 kg/m³,and its use is almost 3 times more than the use of cement in conventionalconcrete. Remember that component Quartz filler material in the manufacture ofhigh-strength concrete is very good because it contains compounds such ascement constituents. This led to a new method using silica fume and quartz fillermaterial with high levels as cement additives, reducing waste, and makingconcrete environmentally friendly because it reduces CO2 emissions .
In this study, the compressive strength of concrete was tested on mortar specimens measuring 5 x 5 x 5 cm. The test was carried out when the concretewas 28 days old. The use of semen factor variation 0.35; 0.4; 0.45 and variationsin filler content of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%. There were 75 test objects and dividedinto 4 populations. Testing the compressive strength of concrete using acompression testing machine based on the ASTM C579-01 standard.
The results showed that the concrete mortar specimen with the influence ofwater cement factor variation of 0.35 and zone 2 sand gradation had the highestaverage compressive strength of 67,040 MPa with a quartz filler of 15%. Whilethe normal test object without filler has the highest average compressive strengthof 66,161 MPa using a water cement factor of 0.35 and a sand gradation of zone2 . voids in concrete mortar caused by interlocking between fine aggregates sothat the concrete mortar becomes denser and produces high compressive strength.
