Abstract

In writing this dissertation, the title under study is Government Efforts in Overcoming Tjockir Sugar Factory Industrial Waste (study at the Jombang Regency Environmental Service). The formulation of the problem, namely, how the efforts of the Jombang Regency Environmental Service to overcome the Tjoekir Sugar Factory waste and what are the supporting and inhibiting factors for the Environmental Service in dealing with sugar factory industrial waste. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Qualitative research method is a research method based on the philosophy of positivism, where the researcher is the key instrument, the sampling of data sources is carried out purposively. Data analysis is inductive qualitative. The primary data in this study were directly taken by the researcher from the object of research. Data were obtained from direct interviews with informants and observations were also made to support the existing data. While secondary data is data that is studied by researchers such as laws and regulations, documents, archives that have to do with research. The data analysis method used descriptive qualitative data processing techniques. The results of the study show the efforts of the Jobang Regency Environmental Service in overcoming environmental damage due to factory waste by means of prevention, control, recovery and maintenance of the environment by keeping in touch with related factories in terms of factory waste management. The obstacle faced is the lack of supervision from the environmental service to assist companies that produce waste that has the potential to cause damage to the environment.
