Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family harmony and the tendency for self-harm behavior in adolescents. This research method used a quantitative approach with 416 respondents. Data collection used two scales: the family harmony scale (α = 0.833) with 23 items and the self-harm scale (α = 0.877) with 28 items. The data were then analyzed using a simple linear regression test, with an R value of 0.083 and an F value of 37.27 (p = 0.00) <0.05. It was concluded that family harmony has a negative relationship with the tendency for self-harm behavior in adolescents. This study indicates that the more harmonious a family is, the lower the tendency for self-harm behavior in adolescents. Conversely, the more disharmonious a family is, the higher the tendency for self-harm behavior in adolescents.
