Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of conformity on aggressive behavior in adolescent members of pencak silat in Nganjuk. The research method used quantitative with simple regression analysis. The number of respondents in this study was 384 respondents. The sampling determination used the Snowball Sampling technique. The measuring instrument used was the conformity scale (α = 0.960) and the aggressive behavior scale (α = 0.969). The data analysis technique used simple regression analysis. The results of the data analysis showed a regression coefficient value of p = 0.000 <0.05 with an R2 value of 0.238. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between conformity and aggressive behavior in adolescent members of pencak silat in Nganjuk. Conformity influences aggressive behavior by 23%, while the rest is influenced by other factors. The implications of the research results lie in adolescents with groups that often commit acts of violence related to aggressive behavior. Therefore, it is necessary to have coaching efforts that emphasize the development of critical attitudes and self-control so that adolescents are able to manage social pressure and reduce aggressive behavior.
