Abstract

This study was conducted to know whether there is a relationship between self-presentation and subjective well being in student Instagram users in Malang City. The sample in this study was 385 Instagram user students in Malang City. The data collection measuring instrument in this study used the self presentation scale by Nisa and the subjective well being scale by Irawati. The results of the study showed a positive relationship between self presentation and subjective well being. The higher the student's self presentation, the higher the subjective well being. Vice versa, if the lower the student's self presentation, the lower the subjective well being. This is evidenced from the regression test that there is a significant positive relationship to variable Y, namely subjective well being, β = 0.426, t (df) = 9.224, p < 0.05. The self presentation variable is related to the subjective well being variable by 18.2%, R2 = 0.182, F (df) = 85.074. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between self-presentation and subjective well being in student Instagram users in Malang City.
