Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between work-life balance and job stress levels among teachers. The method used was a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The study involved 105 teachers using an accidental sampling technique. The instruments used included a work-life balance scale and a job stress scale, both of which have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis using simple linear regression showed a significant negative relationship between work-life balance and job stress levels (r = -0.619). This means that the higher the work-life balance teachers experienced, the lower their job stress levels. The work-life balance variable contributed 38.3% to job stress. The implications of this study are highly relevant for the world of education, particularly for teachers in schools. For teachers, understanding the importance of maintaining work-life balance can be a step towards reducing ongoing job stress, thereby improving the quality of teaching and interpersonal relationships in the school environment. This research also opens the door for further studies considering other factors that influence teacher job stress, such as the work environment, social support, or school leadership. This study emphasizes the importance of maintaining a balance between personal life and work in order to reduce teachers' work stress levels and improve the quality of teaching.
