Abstract

Every human being must have experienced problems, one of which is a failure in marriage that leads to divorce which can result in individuals having low resilience. The ability to recover from life's challenges and stresses is called resilience. Self-compassion is related to factors that help women who experience divorce to recover and be able to survive, these factors include: having feelings of worth, having a sense of optimism to continue living, and being able to learn lessons and benefits from failures or problems experienced. The purpose of this study is to determine whether or not there is a relationship between self -compassion and resilience in women who experience divorce. The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling and snowball sampling. The resilience scale used in this study is a scale compiled by Connor (2003), named The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) which has been translated by Septriani (2017), and modified by the researcher. The Self Compassion Scale used in this study is a scale compiled by Neff (2003) called the Self Compassion Scale (SCS). This scale was translated by Sugianto, D., et al (2020). This study uses a correlational quantitative approach to obtain a correlation coefficient value of 0.551 and a significance value of 0.05. These results show that self-compassion is positively correlated with resilience. The results of research and data analysis that have been carried out as well as existing theories, it can be concluded in this study that there is a positive relationship between self-compassion and resilience in women who experience divorce in Malang Regency. The higher the resilience, the higher the self-compassion for women who experience divorce. Conversely, if the lower the resilience, the lower the self-compassion possessed by women who experience divorce. So the hypothesis which states that there is a relationship between the variables of self-compassion and resilience in women who experience divorce in Malang Regency is accepted
