Abstract

The phenomenon of divorce has increased in Indonesia, particularly in Malang Regency, where most filings are initiated by women. Divorce is not merely a legal separation but also brings significant psychological impacts, especially for women. This study aims to understand the self-acceptance process in women after divorce. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, three divorced women residing in Malang Regency were selected as participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis followed a descriptive-interpretative approach based on Kubler-Ross' theory. The results indicate that the participants went through five stages of self-acceptance: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Key factors supporting self-acceptance included social support, economic independence, and spirituality. These findings highlight the need for community-based interventions and psychosocial support for divorced women.
