Abstract

Organizational commitment plays a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of student organizations. One of the factors suspected to influence such commitment is psychological ownership, which refers to the psychological sense of ownership an individual feels toward an organization. This study aims to examine the influence of psychological ownership on organizational commitment among university students who are actively involved in student organizations. The research employed a quantitative approach with a simple linear regression design. The study involved 100 participants selected using accidental sampling techniques. The hypothesis testing yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant influence between psychological ownership and organizational commitment. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) showed that psychological ownership contributes 76.3% to the organizational commitment of students actively engaged in student organizations. These findings suggest that strengthening the sense of ownership toward an organization can increase students’ level of commitment in organizational settings.
