Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the psychological well-being of adolescents raised by single fathers. This research method used a qualitative phenomenological approach, with three respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling based on certain criteria. The data collection technique used in this interview was an in-depth interview with an interview guide. The results from the three respondents indicate that the respondents are able to accept themselves, are emotionally and financially independent, and have a life goal and motivation to develop. However, the respondents tend to be withdrawn in social relationships. Despite coming from an incomplete family, the respondents demonstrated quite good psychological well-being thanks to adaptation, paternal support, and the ability to face challenges. This study only involved three respondents, so it is recommended that future researchers expand the number of respondents and consider the perspectives of parents or other relevant parties to gain a more comprehensive understanding.
