Abstract

Family social support is an act that can increase self-control among students. Family social support is able to suppress the number of students’ indiscipline that can lead to class skipping behavior. The objective of this research is to find the correlation between Family social support and self-control. This is a quantitative and non-experimental based research. The sample of this research are 55 students from the calculation of class-skipping students that has skipped the class more than twice in one semester. . The parameters used are family social support and self-control r in the form of likert scale.. The reliability coefficient for family social support scale is 0.722 and 0.689 for self-control scale. the hypothesis using the pearson correlation test, with a significance value of 0.001 <0.05 shows a positive result. So, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between family social support and self-control. It means that the higher the family social support, the higher the self-control, and vice versa.
