Abstract

This research is motivated by the high divorce rate which causes people to become victims of divorce in a family. The research uses a quantitative causality approach design which aims to determine the influence of perceptions about parental divorce on marital optimism in adolescents with divorced parents. This research used a sample of 100 teenagers who were victims of their parents' divorce. Data collection techniques used a perception scale about parental divorce and a marriage optimism scale. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with data analysis for hypothesis testing carried out using simple linear regression with an R Square value of 0.703 or a percentage of 70.3%, the results were positive and showed the influence of perceptions about parental divorce on marital optimism in teenagers from divorced parents. The limitation of this research is that it does not explain how long the parents were divorced for each subject and only focuses on the overall subject being a victim of divorce.
