Abstract
Based on the results of an interview with one of the training development specialists at PT. Berau Coal, the pass rate in group training on basic safety training materials is still low. The development of information and communication technology has led to a variety of new innovations in all aspects of life, including learning the media. Good learning media can support the learning process to achieve the desired learning outcomes. Microlearning is a learning method that is inherent in e-learning, packaged in the form of digital-based videos. The research method in this study is a quasi-experimental, with a nonequivalent control group designed to determine the effectiveness of digital-based microlearning videos as learning media in supporting training for PT. Berau Coal. There are two groups that are the subject, namely the control group which will take part in training using conventional methods with trainers teaching in class and the experimental group which will take part in the training process by receiving treatment using video microlearning. The data collection techniques used were the pre-test and post-test of the experimental class and the control class with the independent t-test N-gain test.Based on the results of the independent sample t-test for the N-gain score, the N-gain percent of the experimental class using microlearning videos was 63.1622, while the conventional method control class was 40.9387. It can be concluded that the use of video microlearning is quite effective in improving learning outcomes.
