Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self concept and self confidence in adolescents in Malang City. This research method uses a quantitative research design with a correlational approach, with a total of 100 respondents. The sample determination used the Non-probability sampling technique. The measuring instruments used were the self-concept scale (α = 0.930) and the self-confidence scale (α = 0.882). The data analysis technique used simple linear regression. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a significant and positive relationship between self concept and self confidence in adolescents in Malang City. The results of the Pearson correlation test showed a value of r = 0.469 with a significance of 0.000, which means that the higher the self concept possessed by adolescents, the higher their level of self confidence. Most of the adolescents in this study had a self-concept in the medium category (54%) and self-confidence in the high category (81%). This finding indicates that although some adolescents have not reached a completely high level of self-concept, they still show a good level of self-confidence, which is likely influenced by external factors such as social support, parenting, and a supportive learning environment.
