Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between selfconfidence and work readiness among students at Vocational High School X in Batu City. This research method uses a quantitative research design with a correlational approach, with 177 respondents. Sampling determination uses probability sampling technique with stratified random sampling method. The measuring instruments used are the self-confidence (α = 0.733) and the work readiness (α = 0.966). Data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression. The results showed a regression confficient of β = 0.879 with a pvalue of 0.000 (<0.05) and an R =0.772. These finding indicate a positive relationship between self-confidence and work readiness among the students at Vocational high School in Batu City. Self-confidence and work readiness by 77,2%, while the rest is influenced by other factors. The implications of the research result lie in efforts to increase students’ work readiness that can be done by students or teachers by improving self-confidence. Students can develop self-confidence through positive experiences, such as improving technical skills.
