Abstract

Academic procrastination is an attitude or behavior of procrastinating in doing or completing tasks which as a result can harm individuals such as not completing tasks properly. Learning motivation is an impulse that arises both from within and from outside the individual that can arouse enthusiasm in learning so as to achieve the dreamed goals. This study aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and academic procrastination in grade 11 students at SMA Negeri 1 Bululawang. The subjects of this study were 80 grade 11 students at SMA Negeri 1 bululawang, using probability sampling techniques, namely simple random sampling. The data collection process uses two scales, namely the academic procrastination scale which amounts to 18 items and the learning motivation scale which amounts to 23 items. While the statistical analysis data used in this study is the pearson product moment correlation method whose results show a correlation value of -0.556 with p of 0.000 (p<0.05). It can be concluded that there is a negative and significant relationship between learning motivation and academic procrastination in grade 11 students at SMA Negeri 1 Bululawang, with the correlation value is negative which means that the higher the learning motivation, the lower the level of academic procrastination, on the contrary, the lower the learning motivation, the higher the student's academic procrastination.
