Abstract

The anxiety felt by a person is divided into two factors, namely precipitation and predisposition. The precipitation factor is in the form of a threat to physical integrity and to self-systems. Predisposing factors are views on an object or subject, personality type, and mechanical coping stress. Coping strategies carried out by individuals to deal with an event and reduce the negative impact of situations and anxiety tendencies faced by cultivating a distancebetween life's problems, both from within and from outside the individual with the ability to meet these needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectof coping stress on the tendency to worry about the future of the family in wives who have gambling husbands. The study population consisted of 436 wives, using a accidental sampling technique with a sample of 109 wives. The research instrumentuses a coping stress scale and an anxiety tendency scale with a Likert scale model.The results of this hypothesis test show that it is proven that there is an influence of stress coping variables on the family's future anxiety tendencies. However, the magnitude of the correlation value (R) obtained was only 0.163 which means that the effect of the independent variable, namely coping stress on the dependent variable, namely the tendency of family future anxiety by 16%, the rest is influenced by other factors by 84%.
