Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of parents' overprotective behavior on juvenile delinquency behavior at SMKN 2 Tarakan. This study uses quantitative research methods with independent and dependent variable methods using two variables, namely parents' over protective behavior and juvenile delinquency behavior. The data is disclosed using the over protective scale and the juvenile delinquency scale of SMKN 2 Tarakan. The sample in this study was 130 students of SMKN 2 Tarakan with a total population of 1301. Using statistical random sampling technique. Data analysis uses statistics, which describe Over Protective behavior and juvenile delinquency behavior. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the overprotective behavior of parents has an influence on juvenile delinquency. Parents' over protective behavior contributes to juvenile delinquency by 0.12 (12%). Based on this, the hypothesis put forward by the researcher that there is a negative influence between overprotective behavior and juvenile delinquency behavior at SMKN 2 Tarakan is accepted.
