Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction in early adult women. This research method uses quantitative with a correlational approach, with a total of 126 respondents. Determination of sampling using accidental sampling technique. The measuring instruments used were the interpersonal communication scale (α = 0.889) and the marital satisfaction scale (α = 0.613). Data analysis techniques use normality tests and linearity tests as requirements before testing hypotheses using regression analysis. Based on the results of data categorization, it shows that married early adult women have moderate interpersonal communication and high marital satisfaction. The results of data analysis show a correlation coefficient value of 0.209 (p = 0.000) < 0.05. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is a positive relationship between interpersonal communication and marital satisfaction in early adult women. This shows that the higher the interpersonal communication, the higher the marital satisfaction. This research has implications for increasing individual awareness about the importance of interpersonal communication in increasing marital satisfaction, especially in early adult women.
